JD Edwards Tools & technology

We do provide services on JD Edwards Tools and Technology that has a variety of infrastructure tools i.e. Configurable Network Computing that help to install, update and manage JD EnterpriseOne applications that interact with middleware database server and applications server via a web browser.

There are three basic fundamental concepts that enable JDE's CNC architecture: Environments, Path Codes and Object Configuration Manager to run across a network of multiple server platforms and databases. The applications consist of reusable business functions and associated data that can be configured across the network dynamically.

Technical Development

Technical Development and Reporting – EnterpriseOne allows companies to develop custom objects as well as modify standard objects. All source code on the application level is available and can be analyzed or changed based on need.

There are two types of programming done by EnterpriseOne programmers. The first is using the event rule language which is a 4th generation language, developed by JD Edwards, that builds code from wizard-like interfaces using the Object Management Workbench is a project-based system. The second type of programming uses C++ language. The object types for development are APPL - Interactive Application - used to interact with the system in a real time basis; BSFN - Business Function ;BSVW - Business View ;DSTR - Data Structure ;GT - Media Object Data Structure ;TBLE - Table Definition ;UBE - Batch Application - processes that run on a server and either perform table updates and data processing or create reports

Data Archiving

Data archiving is a practice adopted for identifying data that is no longer in use and moving it out of production systems to quickly access data; result-in increase in performance in active data storage systems. Archival data is stored in long-term storage system so that it can be restored on demand.
The advantages of archiving data include ensuring production systems use fewer resources, run more efficiently, and reduce storage costs overall.

How differ Data backup vs archiving on point data become corrupted or be lost or for usage as reference.
A backup is a copy of the organization’s active data, current operational data. This includes any data that is being used, changed, or accessed regularly. When your system creates a backup copy of your data, it doesn’t affect the original files which remain in the given location. Whereas the archiving data moves data to another backup files system erasing data from active data file system. Thus restoration of backup means overwriting on existing data files, archive restoration means providing access to transaction not in use using respective data files.
